Enough is enough with reality dating shows

Have you ever been on MTV or performed in a concert? Still single? That’s it — I’m now guessing those are the only qualifications to get a dating “reality” show on VH1 or MTV.

Flavor Flav, Brett Michaels, Ray J and whoever else might make an interesting TV character is given a show on VH1 to help them find true love. And how well does it work? It doesn’t. Flavor Flav did, what, three seasons? Michaels is on his third and Ray J’s just gettin’ warmed up.

Which reminds me, who the hell is Ray J, anyway? He’s Brandy’s brother and he was in a sex tape with Kim Kardashian. Does that make him famous? No, it puts him in a category with Paris Hilton, Kardashian and Nicole Richie who are famous for nothing. Sure Ray J put an album out, but so did Hilton - what’s your point?

Anyway, the latest singer to try and get a show is Pepa of Salt N Pepa.

Seriously - enough is enough. What happened to the days when VH1 and MTV actually playing music videos? I weep for the future.

Oh, and if you’re a couple — you shouldn’t have a show either. The divorce rate on those is staggering — Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, the list goes on
