My ass kissing of the world’s most renown rapper continues. First DMX, then SSSC, and now the man himself, Flava Flav. After the usual opening “What’s your secret to looking great?” formalities, we get to the real meat of Flav: His gigantic clocklace. Michelle: Flavor, two seconds my love. First of all, you look fantastic.
Flavor Flav: Thank you, thank you.
Michelle: How many degrees hot are you right now? It’s boiling.
Flavor Flav: Whoa! I’m like 80o hot.
Michelle: I think you need to take that velveteen coat off. Is what I think. You need to be comfortable.
Flavor Flav: Skulls and bones – this is Adolfo, baby. You don’t take off Adolfo.
Michelle: [laughs] It’s looking good.
Flavor Flav: You don’t take off your Adolfo. Adolfo is the – that’s it right now. Michelle: That’s it. Tell me something: How annoying is Daylight Savings Time for you?
Flavor Flav: I don’t pay no attention to it.
Michelle: Love it.
Flavor Flav: Long as I live.
Michelle: Who resets your clocks? Do you have a guy who does that for you?
Flavor Flav: I do it myself!
Michelle: You do it yourself?
Flavor Flav: If you want something done right!
Michelle: What channel is your talk show going to be on?
Flavor Flav: Um, we’re trying to find a home for it now. So that’s in the works.
Michelle: What about VH1?
Flavor Flav: No, VH1 – I’ve been on VH1. I blew VH1 up. You know what I’m sayin’? I brought in 7,500,000 viewers.* (*Ed. Note: No idea if this is true.)
Michelle: Get out.
Flavor Flav: Nobody ever broke my record yet! So Flavor Flav still stands number one on VH1.

Flavor Flav going back to school in new show 50-year-old rapper has no high school diploma, wants to make mom proud

BURBANK, Calif. - Flavor Flav is heading back to high school to get his diploma, and he’s inviting the reality TV cameras to follow him.

Ripping a page from Rodney Dangerfield’s play book, the Public Enemy rapper and alumnus of several VH1 reality shows will be teaming up with Michael Hirschorn’s Ish Entertainment and Eric Ortner Productions to produce the new strip. Ortner is a former senior producer for NBC’s “Weekend Today” show and ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Flav, 50, (real name: William Jonathan Drayton Jr.), who dropped out of high school in the 10th grade and has suffered through life because of it, told Access in a recent interview that he is returning to the classroom to make his family proud. “Honestly, to tell you the truth, I don’t have my diploma, and years later, down the line, I felt that it was an embarrassing situation that I wanted to fix,” Flav said. “I wanted to make my mother happy — my sisters both have their diplomas and I don’t yet. And so I want to make my mom smile and make her proud while she’s still alive.”

Flav adds that he’s ready to use the reality TV platform to serve as a role model.

“I want to use this show as an example that it’s never too late to go back. I want to use this show as a tool to show kids who are already in school to get your diploma while you’re there. There are a lot of things that you can’t do in your life without your diploma. I want to go back and fix it now. I want this to be influential on kids.”

Flav says that fans will see a much more serious side of him — that he will be showing fans the “William Drayton side of him” in this new show.

“You’re definitely going to see a much more serious and deep side of William Drayton, who’s the person that created the character of Flav,” he said. “And now I want fans to see the real serious, parental and mentor side of me — the William Drayton side. I’m going to be much more in mentor mode.”

But don’t expect his new show to be all about the books.

“There will definitely be some wackiness too!” Flav said. “I’m going out for the band, and the basketball team, and the football team. I’m still gonna keep Flavor Flav the man around! If the football team is losing the game, I’m gonna put on a jersey, and I’m gonna go out there and win the game for my school!” Flav sighted his own participation in music programs as being the saving grace of his eventual career trajectory, but also, the reason why he didn’t originally graduate.

“I play 14 different instruments,” he explained. “Another reason why I don’t have my diploma though is because I cut classes hanging out in the band room. But on this show, you’re definitely gonna see me out there as the drum major leading the band.”

Finally, Flav sees this show as the chance for a new direction for reality TV — one that’s focusing on positive results.

“I think right now the direction of reality TV needs to change. I started out the trend for the dating shows on reality TV. My heart is saddened about the murder that happened within the course of that. I am going to change the course of things. People want something more right now; they want something smarter,” he told Access.

“So my message for kids is, ‘Get your diploma right now.’ Believe me, I had a rough life without it. There are a lot of guys on the corner right now, hustling drugs because they can’t get the jobs they want because they don’t have their diplomas,” he said.

Flavor Flav Talks About New Reality Show

Hip-Hop veteran Flavor Flav is planning on jumping back into the spotlight very soon.

In a recent interview Flavor Flav told AllHipHop.com, "I'm working on a reality show and a talk show, going back to high school. I got a talk show coming, yall ain't going to be mad at ya boy."

Flav caught the reality TV bug when he first appeared on VH1's "The Surreal Life" and then "Strange Love," which stemmed from the relationship that he formed with Brigitte Nielsen.

Later Flav would go on to start is own reality series that continued for three seasons the "Flavor of Love."



Flavor Flav's reality TV success did not come without scrutiny. The rapper turned reality star come under fire from who labeled performance a "coon act" on "a modern day minstrel show."

Flav gained his stardom with the rap group Public Enemy in the late '80s as Chuck D's hypeman.



He is known for sporting his huge trademark clock around his neck.

Our favorite '80s rapper with a sweet grill turned bizarro reality star with a big heart is none other than Flavor Flav. And we had the pleasure of chatting with him at the VH-1 Hip Hop Awards last night. The "Flavor of Love" star has gotta find a new concept as he's now off the market (sorry, ladies) with one lady and one little baby all his own. Well, his seventh baby, but that's beside the point. But before the show runs the risk of being irrelevant (never!), we asked him, what exactly does the Flavor of Love taste like? Turnips? We're guessing turnips.

He explains, "You gotta come on the show to find out! I got you though. If you want to know, come on the show."

All right, there, Flav. We'll come on the show. You gotta, um, uncancel it, though. else has an amazing grill. He says, "A lot of people in rap music -- my man, Rakewon from the Wu Tang Clan. It’s real and it’s fashionable and it’s flashy!"

Fashionable AND flashy. It's true. More celebs could use a good grill. Lookin' at you, GaGa.

So what female celebrities would he be interested in having on his show? He pauses, reflects and decides, "All of them! All of them that's hot! Everybody that's hot! But I can’t do no more 'Flavor of Love.' I'm not a single man anymore!" We know you're not, Flav. You don't have to remind us and break our hearts all over again. So, what is he up to now that he's settled down? He says, "I've got a girl and a baby at home. Right now, I'm down in Vegas doing it, baby!"

OK. We won't get into detail about what "doing it" in Vegas means to Flav, but we can make our assumptions. I'm guessing it's taking the little bundle of joy to mommy-and-me, cooking the wife romantic dinners, and a couple rounds of golf on the weekends to take the edge off. Now THAT would be a reality show I'd like to see.

The September 11 attacks (often referred to as September 11th or 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States on September 11, 2001. On that morning, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners.[1][2] The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Pennsylvania, after some of its passengers and flight crew attempted to retake control of the plane, which the hijackers had redirected toward Washington, D.C. There were no survivors from any of the flights.

In total 2,993 people, including the hijackers, died in the attacks.[3][4] The overwhelming majority of casualties were civilians, including nationals of over 90 countries. In addition, the death of at least one person from lung disease was ruled by a medical examiner to be a result of exposure to dust from the World Trade Center's collapse.[5] The United States responded to the attacks by launching a "War on Terrorism", invading Afghanistan to depose the Taliban, who had harbored al-Qaeda terrorists, and enacting the USA PATRIOT Act. Many other countries also strengthened their anti-terrorism legislation and expanded law enforcement powers. Some American stock exchanges stayed closed for the rest of the week following the attack, and posted enormous losses upon reopening, especially in the airline and insurance industries. The destruction of billions of dollars worth of office space caused serious damage to the economy of Lower Manhattan.

The damage to the Pentagon was cleared and repaired within a year, and the Pentagon Memorial was built on the site. The rebuilding process has started on the World Trade Center site. In 2006 a new office tower was completed on the site of 7 World Trade Center. The 1 World Trade Center is currently under construction at the site and at 1,776 ft (541 m) upon completion in 2011, will become one of the tallest buildings in North America. Three more towers were originally expected to be built between 2007 and 2012 on the site.
